Welcome to Ms. Timmons' Classroom
Roles and Responsibilities
As your child's teacher I will develop appropriate instructional strategies to help your child achieve academic success. I will bring enthusiasm and varied teaching approaches to the classroom, addressing your child’s needs and ensuring that your child is reaching their full potential. I will make myself available for extra help if your child requires it. I will make the classroom a safe and fun environment for your child to learn.
For the parents, studies show that students perform better in school when their parents are involved in their education. I would encourage you to attend parent-teacher interviews, take a few minutes (10 minutes before bedtime) to read with your child, talk and play together at home, get a library membership (they are free and provide many interesting activities) and/or have your child join a after school team/program.
Lastly, the students. With appropriate instruction and with experience, your child will come to see how making an effort can enhance learning and improve achievement. As your child will grow and develop their ability to persist, to manage their own impulses, to take responsible risks, and to listen with understanding, your child will become better able to engage with their own learning. Learning to take responsibility for their progress and achievement is an important part of every student’s education and I will assist them in that journey.
